I use a Traveller (Supra) tvt6500 film scanner that uses an OVT scanner driver. It works fine on XP with Arcsoft Impressions 6 (supplied with the scanner) but I cannot get good results from Elements 9 on Win 7. I have downloaded the Win7 64 bit driver OK and I can see the scanner in Organiser ok. I cannot calibrate the scanner. I can only scan one slide at a time (Impressions I can scan 6 and transfer all six in one go), I then have to close the driver, open the saved file in Organiser, edit it in Elements and save it. The definition colour and results are not as good as the XP Arcsoft solution . The manual brightness in the OVT driver is too course and the image small and distorted until after it is transferred. In XP the colour looks to be corrected on transfer but not with Elements. Unfortunately none of my Arcsoft software works on Win7 which is why I bought Elements.

My old HP 4070 film scanner does not work with win 7 either. So after buying a new Laptop and Elements 9, which is fine for digital photographs, I do not get good results on my old slides and film negs. The Film scanner is less than a year old. Can anybody recommend a good film scanner that works with Elements? 15years ago I had a SCSI Epson Photo scanner and Photoshop 5 very slow but great results.
