We recently circumnavigated the world & used a Lenovo PC with XP operating system. We moved ashore in October so have not turned the boat PC on for a few months. It was working fine when we last used it. Today (12/31) I turned it on and got the blue screen. Since it was a 1st blue screen I turned it off and tried again and when prompted told the computer to start in safe mode. I again got the blue screen. These are the error codes that were identified:

Stop 0xs0000007E (0xC0005, 0xBA4AAD85, 0xBA50B8E0, 0xBA50B5DC)

ftdibus.sys - address BA4AAD85 base at BA4A8000, datestamp 43A6C828.

I tried a restart a 3rd time. I did not get the blue screen but the computer just kept cycling thru the turn on process. After the Windows XP logo screen appeared the next screen was 'power saving off mode' and then it would go thru start up all over again but didn't seem to be powering up or down in between cycles.

We are reasonably computer savey (always a relative term) and can follow directions but screwing around inside the box is beyond us. Can someone give us instructions on how to fix this or should we cart it off to the shop.

We don't want to part ways with XP as it drives our navigtion software!

In addition to the modifications made to the FTDIBUS.INF file to accommodate driver matching, the following entries in the FTDIPORT.INF file show text in bold that must be changed to match the VID and PID combination.
