Cable connections:
First, check your cable connections - You should have:

• RCA phono cable from CD player/vinyl deck #1 going to inputs 1+2 of the Maya44 (1 = Left (White cable), 2 = Right (Red cable))
  
• RCA phono cable from CD player/vinyl deck #2 going to inputs 3+4 (3 = Left, 4 = Right)
  
• RCA phono cable from outputs 1+2 going to line input of channel 1 of your mixer.
  
• RCA phono cable from outputs 3+4 going to line input of channel 2 of your mixer.
  

Windows PC driver installation and configuration:
Next, if you are using a Windows PC, download and install the latest drivers for the Maya44. A link to the latest drivers can be found on the common device drivers page.
Once you have done this, go into the Maya44 control panel (Maya44USBPanel.exe included with the soundcard's drivers) and check that your settings are as follows:

• Monitor section: All sliders are at the bottom and the Mute tick boxes are ticked.
  
• Input section: Sliders should be 3/4 of the way up. The Mute tick box needs to be ticked (Otherwise you will hear the timecode signal (High-pitched whine))
  
• Output section: Depending on the output level you need to your mixer, these should be between 3/4 and maximum. The Mute tick box must NOT be ticked (Otherwise you will not hear any music!)
  

Mac CoreAudio configuration:
If you are using a Mac, the Maya44 USB will work with native Mac CoreAudio (No drivers need to be downloaded or installed), but you may need to configure it for 4 channel input and output. Please ensure that both INPUT and OUTPUT is set to 44100.0 Hz and 4ch-16 bit.
VirtualDJ sound configuration:
Now start up VirtualDJ and click on the CONFIG button.
Click on the Performances tab and choose the following:

• Latency: Auto
  
• Safe Mode: NOT ticked
  

Click on the Sound Setup tab and select the following:

• Inputs: Timecodes
  
• Outputs: External Mixer
  
• Sound card(s):
  (PC): ASIO Driver -> Choose the Maya44 USB ASIO driver in the drop-down list.

Click on the Timecode Config button, and choose VirtualDJ CD

If you are using timecode CD's, you will need to download the timecode CD signal from the Timecode CD page. Download the pro grade signal if you are using pro CD players such as Pioneer CDJ 800/1000, otherwise download the comsumer grade signal. Use your CD recording software to burn this to a couple of audio CD's.
NOTE: Make sure that keylock or master tempo on the CD player is turned off. If you require keylock, activate this from VirtualDJ NOT the CD players. Effects built into CD players cannot be used (E.g: Flanger) - use the equivalent effects in VirtualDJ instead.
